Late last night Kerry and I pulled out the baby gear we had stored way back under the stairs. The situation is worse that I thought. I thought that I had saved more baby things than I have. What were we thinking getting rid of it??!! Of course, Cohen is now 4 so that is a long time to store things we weren't even sure we would need again. Anyway, my list making skills are going in full force as I mark off what I have (which isn't that much) and what I still need (which is a lot). I realize that I have no burp cloths, baby monitor, mobile, bottles, baby toys/teething rings, baby gates or baby blankets. Of course, if I still had my baby blankets, they would be blue anyway and there is nothing but girly colors in my future..... This is where my friends and sister come into play as I send out an all-points-bulletin for them to look through their stuff and let me know what they have so I can be on the look-out at garage sales for things no one has. At least we found a high chair, swing, stroller, bath seats, johnny-jump-up, pack-n-play, and car seats under there so it could be worse.

It is city-wide garage sales this weekend in Kasson/Mantorville so I stopped at one tonight and bought 2 of the cutest outfits EVER. One is this little green plaid dress with little matching underpants and this adorable watermelon hat and the other is a 3 piece, VERY pink outfit. I realize as I am paying for them that it is the first thing I have bought specifically for Kariana and I almost started crying at the garage sale. How embarrassing! It has been an emotional roller coaster the past 5 days so I guess it had to come out sometime.

After this post I plan on working on paperwork for the next 2 hours. Doesn't that sound like fun? That is OK though, anything for us to get this show on the road. I am sure she is being perfectly well taken care of but its not me who is doing the taking-care-of so there is no possible way it is good enough. I can't believe it will be 2 months before I get to hold her. I really hope they will send some more pictures. I think I may go a little crazy if I have to stare at that same picture everyday for the next 8 weeks. I am working on the US government form first which is one of those awesome government forms where I swear the instructions are written in some foreign language and every field feels like a guessing game as to what they want. But I'm not bitter at all. Or frustrated.

Off to paperwork!
