Yeah!! Finally, our I-800 paperwork got FedEx'd today to the US government. I was hoping that it was going to get sent on Tuesday but it took a couple days longer than we expected. There was a holdup in our home study update. The state of Minnesota recently adopted a format that they require the home studies to be in from the agencies. The problem is that the format will not work for international adoptions so the agencies have been negotiating with the state so that home studies for international can be in a different format. If they don't get the OK from the state, they stand the chance of losing thier adoption license. Of course, ours is the first one to come up since the state adopted the new format. Hopefully the delay doesn't put us back to far.
The US government has been approving the adoption or asking for more info in about 10-12 business days so it will be a good 2 weeks before we hear anything. After that, its the Colombian governements turn to approve us which takes about 1 week. Then we can ask for our visas. Uhhhh! How slow can this go?? I want to see my baby! I think about how much she is changing everyday and we are missing it. I see babies on the street or in stores all the time now and I wonder what Kariana is doing.
I did send off a request for more pictures so I'll keep you updated.
