It was a productive day today on the way to get our little girl. I finished up the US government forms, got Kerry signature and mine about 50 times, and finally got it all sent off to Lutheran Social Services this afternoon. Now that we know the specific child, the US government can approve her to become an American citizen after the adoption is finalized in Colombia. Unfortunately, this approval can take 4 to 6 weeks so now its another waiting game. I can get some other documents ready like our visa application but I can't send that in until we get the immigration approval. At least I got them sent off so the countdown can begin!

My house went from zero baby stuff to spewing baby gear everywhere in about 4 days flat. I think we have baby stuff in every room! Garage sales were good this morning (I'm so glad the weather was finally cooperating!). I am only looking for a couple of things now that my friends and sister went through all their stuff. We got a baby monitor and diaper bag plus some clothing, baby towels, bibs, blankets, etc. As Kerry puts it, "There are lots of cute pink clothes!" We are still looking for a crib but are being kind of picky about it too and we have a few months so we aren't desperate yet. My other dilemma is choosing a nursery color. Yellow/green or red/white? Kerry says just because she is a girl doesn't mean she needs to be inundated in pink and purple. Then I just need to get a crib set and we should be pretty good to go. We still need a couple of baby gates but otherwise looking pretty good.

Tonight we started cleaning out the office which will be the baby's room. Kerry is building a desk to go downstairs and then we can move all the computer/desk stuff down there. I started boxing up a book case and we will have to find a place for some of the boy's toys. I'm hoping my mom will make me some curtains once we decide on a color scheme.

That's about it for now. This process is so slow! I'm going to ask for more pictures next week so cross your fingers.
