We have arrived!!

We made the journey yesterday with minimal problems. We got up at 3:30 AM to get ready to leave and our friend Dale went with us to the airport to bring the van back. All went as well as can be expected until we got to Miami. We were assigned four seats in three different rows and the ticket counter wasn't able to change anything so we loaded onto the plane early and asked the Flight Attendant for some assistance. We did recieve a little help from them but also asked another person to move and it all ended up working out just fine.

We arrived in Bogata a little ahead of schedule and proceed though imigration fairly quickly. We then proceeded to wait for our luggage which of course was the last ones to be loaded onto the carousel. We got through customs easily and then went to a glassed in area to look for the driver that was suppose to be picking us up. We ended up waiting for over an hour before he arrived. The last fifteen minutes of this wait got to be pretty nerve racking for both Cresta and I. We tried to call the phone numbers we were given but only got answering machines. Of course at this point Kaleb ended up having to go to the bathroom ("Really, really bad!") and there weren't any on this side of customs so Cresta and Kaleb had to go back in to take care of business. Just as we were going to call our contact in the States the driver showed up. We ended up getting to the hotel around 10 PM.

The hotel is very quaint. Our room is a little small for 5 of us to be in but it will be just fine for Cresta when the rest of us leave. We talked with the owner this morning and got the run down on how things work and we are starting to settle in. This afternoon we ventured out to find the grocery store to pick up some snacks and drinks to have in the room but we couldn't find the bank to exchange money so tomorro will be another adventure!

Cecilia (our LSS contact in Colombia) called this morning and the presentation of Kariana will be tomorrow (Tuesday) at 4 PM. We are very excited to see her and get this show on the road!

Today we are settling in, getting unpacked, and mainly just chilling at the hotel getting to know the other families. Hopefully we should have more info tomorrow!
